Benkei - Warrior Monk

Commonly known as Benkei, Saito Musashibō Benkei was variously a warrior monk (or sohei), a mountain ascetic, and a rogue warrior. His exploits — performed in service of  the famous warrior Minamoto Yoshitsune — made Benkei a celebrated figure in Japanese history and popular culture.
