Description
Corythoraptor jacobsi is a species of feathered dinosaur that lived in what is now China during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 72 million years ago.
It is a member of the oviraptorosaur group, which were small to medium-sized theropod dinosaurs known for their distinctive beaks and often elaborate head crests.
This crest is thought to have been used for display or communication during mating season. The dinosaur was about 1.2 meters long and weighed around 25 kilograms.
The first fossils of Corythoraptor jacobsi were discovered in 2013, and it was named and described as a new species in 2018.
