Marking the end of summer and the approach of winter, Hallowheat serves as a final, bustling mercantile gathering before the cold months. Late summer produce is sold in abundance for winter storage or used in preparing traditional seasonal dishes, showcasing the rich agricultural heritage of the region.
Encircling the city are rows of tents and booths, where merchants, entertainers, and carnival games draw crowds of eager participants. Bonfires blaze throughout the evening, the flames licking the night sky as effigies made of straw and cloth are set alight in ancient rites of warding.
