A peculiar amphibian that thrives in swamps, underground
tunnels, and cavernous pools, the Rubberskin Evernewt is
known for its remarkable flexibility and corrosive nature.
With its rubbery, gelatinous body, it can squeeze through
the tightest crevices and escape from most predators with
ease.
Although not an aggressive creature, the Evernewt is a
survivor, capable of digesting almost anything it consumes. If
cornered, it defends itself by expelling a corrosive fluid,
which slowly dissolves metals and organic material alike.
This digestive acid makes them both a nuisance and a tool
—while dungeon dwellers may curse their ability to melt
through locks, alchemists and blacksmiths have learned to
tame and use them as living disposal systems.
Though small, their slippery bodies and acidic secretions
make them tricky opponents. While a lone Evernewt poses
little threat, swarms of them infesting dungeons or sewer
systems can pose a significant hazard, dissolving weapons,
armor, and even ancient artifacts if left unchecked.
