Description

Welcome to MiniMine, today we present you the Devorator Carnis!

Devorator Carnis. In the very heart of the desecrated Avignon, where darkness nests in every crevice and the air is saturated with the stench of decay, a creature crawled forth from the deepest and most shadowed cellars—a being that embodied terror itself. Its sole purpose was to devour the rotting corpses littering the streets of the once-magnificent city, but due to endless mutations wrought by the power of the Black Grail, its body had become grotesque and ill-suited for such a task. The bones of its victims, which it greedily swallowed, could not be digested; they lodged in its innards, slowly poisoning and killing their host. Yet the priests of the Black Grail, those cold-blooded servants of the Lord of the Flies, saw in this wretched creature something far greater than a mere failed carrion-feeder.

They discovered that the creature's saliva—a sticky, foul liquid oozing from its maw—was imbued with every plague known to humankind. Bubonic plague, cholera, typhus—all these curses festered within each droplet, poised to break free and engulf entire lands in the embrace of death. The priests, their eyes burning with fanatical zeal, resolved to perfect their creation, to transform this monstrosity into the ultimate biological weapon that would poison new territories, sowing chaos and ruin among the faithful of the Holy Church. But one problem remained unsolved: how could they force this perpetually ravenous and mindless beast to obey?

The creature, consumed by primal hunger, could not be tamed. Its mind, if it could be called such, was clouded by a singular instinct—to devour. At times, in fits of blind rage, it would turn on its own handlers, tearing their bodies apart with the same ferocity it used to rend corpses. The priests searched long for a solution until one of the eldest among them, his mind steeped in dark sorcery, proposed a radical method. They would bind the creature within stone, using the ancient rituals of the Black Grail. Encased in fragments of buildings or other stone structures, the creature became docile, its will subdued by the magical bonds.

This method not only solved the problem but also unveiled new possibilities. Even in its enchanted state, the creature retained its keen sense of smell, able to detect prey from dozens of kilometers away. From its maw, infected saliva began to pour abundantly, dripping to the ground like a toxic rain. The priests quickly realized how to exploit this ability. They began transporting slabs containing the bound creatures to the front lines or to areas where the forces of the Holy Church needed to be halted or forced to retreat. A single gust of wind passing over such a slab carried death with it, a miasma that settled on the skin, seeped into the lungs, and corroded the flesh of any who dared approach.

Thus was born a new weapon of the Black Grail—not a sword nor a spear, but a living plague, shackled in stone, waiting for its moment to break free and plunge the world into eternal darkness.
