15mm Boyar Sons Cavalry

Set of 4x 15mm moscovite boyar sons cavalrymen.

Boyar sons were main moscovite cavalry force in 16-17 centuries, lately being outmatched by reiters and dragoons. They were lightly armed and mostly used harassing tactics, moving back and forth, shooting at the enemy with bows and firearms, attacking only when neccessary. Armor became more and more rare during the period, only wealthiest boyar sons were able to purchase it.

Set includes 1 heavily armored boyar son, 1 boyar son in eastern type helmet and 2 unarmored. All are armed with sabers and either bows or carbines. One boyar son is depicted with a morning star as he probably lost his saber in the fight or during the hasty retreat.
