Cyrus the younger, son of Darius II and persian prince, play a role in Xenophon's anabasis. As a satrap and general, he was able to gather a large army, and some of those would become his guard cavalry. Unfortunatley they were not enough to save him at the battle of Cunaxa against his brother, persian king Artaxerxes II.
