Dear modeling friends, here is a new release: Saladin in the Holy City of Jerusalem.

The figure you have just purchased, the result of the work and talent of sculptor Doug Cohen, enriches the catalog of our brand MILITIA MODELS, and we are proud and honored to present it. In truth, the subject has a long history: originally created for the manufacturer Time Machine, it was later included for many years in the catalog of the Italian company MMA of Ferrara. It has come to us only a few months ago, thanks to the acquisition of the master and the rights directly from MMA, and thanks to the generosity of its owner, our friend Massimo Perencin.

The figure is intended as a three-dimensional interpretation of an illustration by the great Angus McBride, created for the cover of issue no. 171 of the Men-At-Arms series published by Osprey (Saladin and The Saracens – Armies of the Middle East 1100–1300, text by David Nicolle, color plates by Angus McBride; Men-At-Arms Series nr. 171, Osprey Publishing, London 1986). In our humble opinion, once compared with the sculpture, Doug Cohen’s goal seems to have been fully achieved.
