Description

Set of 6x 15mm Zaporozhian cossacks loading weapons and preparing for battle. Two figures are kneeling (either scouting or defending fieldworks).

They are armed with various types of muskets (Eastern European or Ottoman), mainly snaphance flintlocks (one has Ottoman matchlock), sabers, axes, and a spade.

Cossacks are dressed in typical Ukrainian peasants garments and boots, 1 wears long cloak, while 2 wear hungarian "menta" overcoat that was popular among Registered Cossacks at the beginning of the 17th century. 2 models are shown wearing fur hats in a strange manner (layed flat or worn upside-down) popular among Zaporozhians.

These models can represent Zaporozhian cossacks or Registered cossacks of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as well as Ukrainian Hetman's infantry of late 16th- early 18th centuries.
