Lmt - Painting Handle With A Twist

Description

This painting handle is something i originally made for myself over a year ago. I personally did not enjoy painting tiny infantry on a sprue or glued in a row to a wooden stick. There was always an area i could not reach properly with my brush or it was awkward to hold.

So i made a little contraption with rotating bases to put tiny minis on. You turn the ring and the bases start to rotate all in the same direction. If there is a spot you can't reach with the brush, just turn the ring and you are good.

The handle itself had more then 10 versions untill i was happy with the ergonomics. The indentations are not just aestethics, they help to have a good grip however i hold the handle. The handle is included in a standard (light) and a hollow version. The hollow version can be filled with sand to make the handle heavier. I personally prefer the heavier version.

The top comes with 3 options: 1 bigger rotating disc (tanks, walkers, knights ...) or a contraption with 3 or 5 smaller discs (small and medium sized infantry). I use double sided sticky tape on the tiny bases to hold the miniatures in place.

The top parts can simply be slid onto the rails to replace the parts while batchpainting. To secure the tops in place you need magnets with 5mm diameter and 1mm thickness (1 for the holder and 1 for each top). This also helps to transport the minis on the tops in a metall box, if you like to paint with friends.

Does the handle make you a better painter? I guess not, but speaking for myself, it made painting tiny infantry a bit more enjoyable.

All parts print fine on fdm printers.
