Hailing from a small Nan Thalian village nestled against the Syndi Duin, Harias has spent his life in war against the ever-encroaching Men of Baldur. Over centuries he has seen endless bloodshed in the forests of the Fringe, yet now is tasked not to make war, but peace. With a small contingent, he travels into the heart of the land of Men, where they might broker peace with the various logging conglomerates that are responsible for the incessant deforestation that devastates his homeland.

Since Harias was a boy, his people have waged a guerilla war against those who would tear their homeland asunder. A losing war. The Baldurians have long crept towards their village, tree by tree, cleaving swathes of forest away in months, leaving only devastation in their wake. Whilst Harias and his kin have done their best to slow their advance, sabotaging the camps or slaying workers and taskmasters alike, the humans are quick to replace their fallen and provide armed soldiers to protect them.

After centuries of this back and forth, it feels they are at a stalemate. The loggers still continue to cut down their woods, but slower than ever before, weighed down by bureaucracy and the incessant need of armed guards, whilst still suffering losses from Elven traps and raids in the night. Finally, the Baldurians sent an envoy to the Elves, asking to broker a peace deal between their timber companies and the Elves, in the city of Grimhelm. Harias is one of these diplomats, though political theatre is not his nature, but he has seen more of the atrocities of the Fringe than any Men have in their lifetimes. Though he and his contingent expect some sort of trap or scheme, their orders are to hear out the Baldurians regardless. Though in the inn the group are staying at, Harias met a strange man: Aaron Drafthold, who compelled him into a quest to search a rumoured teleporting fortress. Harias was promised that in there, he may find the answer to his people's woes.
