"This intricate relief depicts Shiva and Parvati (Uma-Maheshvara) enthroned together, with Parvati seated upon Shiva’s left thigh in a graceful lalitasana. The pair exchange a tender, sidelong gaze; Shiva’s matted crest, crescent, serpents, and staff with trident appear within a richly carved arch crowned by a kirtimukha. Attendant ganas flank the halo, and the pedestal shows their emblems—Nandi the bull and a lion.
Iconographically the lap pose proclaims the inseparability of Shiva–Shakti: ascetic power joined to auspicious beauty, household harmony mirroring cosmic balance."
