A Leacianan noblewoman, who fled her homeland in the wake of the Liturium War’s end, fearing persecution. Draksborne was one of the few lands to accept Leacianans, much to the surprise of their contemporaries. Though Draksborne has suffered a far greater fate than Leacianus since, and Cerindelia now must eke out a living in one of the few ways she can: the crucible of combat. Though the only one now operating is within the borders of Belfrie, and she can only hope that its clandestine nature shields her from the eyes of those who would see her at the end of a noose.

House Verani was once a house of little note or merit in the aristocracy of Leacianus. It was not until Cerindelia’s brother, Netros the great inventor, rose to prominence, that their house’s name became synonymous with wealth, ambition and Leacianan ingenuity. Verani was a name that instilled fear, and awe. Each Arcane Golem that stood in the halls of lords or fought on the frontline was engraved with her family name. Yet Cerindelia was given no chance to relish in such prestige. She was supposed to be the one to bring her house to glory, to propel their names to the heights of nobledom and do her parents and ancestors proud. Not her inert brother, who could not even wield Minera’s Breath.

She found herself forever living in her brother’s shadow. Scorned for trying to follow in his steps. Scorned for forging her own path. She could not win. She was a true Marshal, wielder of sword and arcane, a captain in the armies of the Liturium War, yet everywhere she fought she was reminded of her brother, and that his contributions played countless more times to their war effort than hers. When the war ended, and Leacianus was defeated, Cerindelia fled from her home, abandoning her parents, her brother, dead. She knew how they would all be tried, painted with the same brush stroke to pay for the sins of her dearest brother, and his wretched experiments.

In Draksborne she found refuge, as did many officers who fled Leacianus. The kingdom was in dire need of powerful sorcerers, hoping to wage a war of reclamation against Belfrie and Formen in their weakened states. Cerindelia found a place in their crucible as a way to rebuild her lost fortune. It was here that she found the attention of Draksborne’s military commanders, yet not long after, Draksborne itself fell to the dreaded plague of Dragonblight, losing millions of its citizens in mere months. The invasion never occurred, and Cerindelia was able to flee through quarantine, finding her way into Belfrie. There she has lived at the Crucible, a refuge from the politics of the greater kingdom, rebuilding her fortune once what her goal might now be, still eludes her.
