A veteran of Draksborne’s army, the Captain’s past is a secret he holds close. Though he claims to have fought for Belfrie in the war, there are none who claim to know him, despite his alleged position as an officer. Still, he retains his story, despite the claims and rumours to the contrary, with belief circulating that his place as a soldier is a fabrication. Still, he certainly fights like a man who has seen years of war.
Whilst the Captain proudly wears his Draksbornian raiment upon his chest since the Dragonblight ravaged his homeland, he too claims to have fought for Belfrie in the Liturium War. The Captain’s identity is thus a mystery, shrouded in ever-warping rumours and half-truths. Some say they recognise his armour as Second Era, implying the soldier is over three centuries old, perhaps a veteran from the days of the Belfrie Rebellion. Others say he is a spawn of the Abyss, brought up from the hells when they invaded Velandria only years ago.
Whatever the truth, The Captain sticks to his story, and deftly proves his combat prowess to any who might doubt it. He is one of the Crucible’s oldest combatants, but one of its newest, though has risen quickly up the ladder with a straight path to Grand Champion in his sights. It is his hope that this year’s tournament will see him reach his goal, though what he might do with the riches and fame after is anyone’s guess. The only one who claims to know him is his fellow Nosmeni, the Matriarch, yet the two have never been seen conversing, nor does she share any of her supposed knowledge.
The Captain is close guarded, outwardly stoic and obtuse to any who might gauge a word from him. His answers are short, dictated by military jargon and efficiency. His fighting style is much the same, fighting in a completely pragmatic fashion that forgoes flourishes and style like his fellow combatants. His attacks are brutal, powerful and calculated. Even the most nimble of his foes are caught off guard by his onslaughts, not driven by speed, but clear purpose, forcing his foes into unfavourable circumstances where he delivers the coup de grace.
