Before there was a Sungur, there was a Baltar.
The Boneclaw name is older than the order itself. It was given to the first hunter who walked into the deep places without a weapon and walked back out wearing what tried to stop him. He carried no axe. No blade. He carried his own two hands — and by the end of that hunt, his hands were no longer entirely his.
The gauntlets are not armor. They are what grew back when the bone took root. The tanks on his back hold something the order does not name out loud — a fluid pulled from the heart-cavities of beasts that should not have hearts. It feeds the claws. It feeds him. The buckle on his chest is the symbol of the rite he founded: a beast looking up, because in the end, every beast looks up.
Sungur carries the name now. Baltar was the name.
The seventh hunter of the Ossarium has stepped out of legend. May Campaign continues.
