The Rattling Skeletons are not sovereigns of the grave; they are the tireless, unyielding foundation upon which the undying empire is built.

In life, they were the forgotten, thieves, rebels, and condemned souls shackled within the deepest dungeons of the old realm. In death, their heavy iron chains still cling to their desiccated frames, dragging across the earth and wrapping around their ribs. They bear no shields, only the rusted spears and notched blades thrust into their skeletal hands. They are named not for the sound of their bones, but for the deafening, rhythmic clink clank of iron links striking iron links as they march, a chilling chorus of eternal imprisonment that echoes across the battlefield.

Neither freed nor forgiven, these ex prisoners have been dragged from their shallow pits to serve the very kingdom that condemned them. Where they once broke rocks in dark cells, they now break shieldwalls with the same grim, automated labor. They possess no malice, no grand ambition, and no soul. They do not fight for glory, but to fulfill a sentence that outlasted their own heartbeats.

They are the relentless, encroaching dust, an army of convicts bound to a perpetual war. When the heavy rattle of iron and old bone echoes through the fog, living warriors know the grim truth.
