Description

Compsognathus longipes was a small, lightly built theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic, about 150 million years ago, in what is now Germany and France.

Measuring roughly one meter long, it was among the smallest known non-avian dinosaurs. Its slender body, long hind legs, and balancing tail suggest it was a swift, agile predator that hunted insects, small lizards, and other tiny vertebrates.

Fossil discoveries have revealed exceptional preservation, including stomach contents, providing valuable insights into its diet and lifestyle.
