In 28-32mm heroic scale. Atticus has ruled the Sumps as their informal Lord for decades. The Kestner Family owns the pumping stations deep in the festering waters, which keep the transport tunnels (barely) open for trade. As a young man, Atticus was sent there to bring order to the increasingly unruly population. He was never meant to succeed - only to remain quiet until the family succession needed him. 

Atticus defied every expectation, bringing the scattered population under governance and improving the effeciency of the failing pumps a hundred fold. He now taxes his own family for use of their trade routes! He now taxes his own family for passage through their trade routes, alongside every trader, smuggler and pirate carving out a living upon the toxic waterways.

The Kestners could never rise against their wayward son, as the sump population respects him as their leader, giving him an unofficial army of loyal followers. His strict control, and the wealth brought in through taxes, has brought a level of prosperity to this desolate region.

Atticus tolerates few people amassing power in his territory, but harbours a secret softness for Odessa, the young Sump Lady. After she survived for years along the fringes of his domain, he finally granted her hunters access to its richest spider grounds, on the condition that they protect his settlements. Whenever some monstrous creature strays too close to the stilt houses, Odessa’s hunters are quick to answer the call.
