Da Gorejumpaz are what happens when an Ork reads a warning label and decides it is a recipe.
Orks and rockets have always been a bad idea, and always a popular one. Da Ork goes up, da Ork comes down, and whatever was underneath gets very flat. Everybody understands how it works. Then da Khork Dakka warband found da Blood God, and its Mek started wondering what would happen if a little bit of da Blood God’s side got into da fuel tanks. Now da fuel burns red, burns angry, and does not run out while there is still something left to fight. A normal Ork on a rocket pack goes up and comes down. A Gorejumpa goes up and does not come down until he finds something worth landing on. Sometimes that is on a different planet.
Da Mek saw where this was going and wrote a warning label. Six simple rules, stuck on da back of every pack. Nobody read it, except da Princeboss, who read it slowly, stopped at rule five and said that this was exactly what he wanted. So da Mek did it carefully. For a Mek, careful means more chains around da fuel tanks, axes bolted to da sides, and skulls riveted where da gauges used to be. Da gauges were not needed anyway. Da answer was always “more”. A few days later somebody crossed out “carefully” and wrote “MORE FUEL”, and nobody in da warband admits it was him.
Every Goreboy in da warband has died once, seen da Blood God and come back. Most Gorejumpaz have died several times, usually on landing. It does not slow them down. They arrive on da battlefield with a long trail of red smoke, a chain-choppa first, a pistol emptying in da general direction of da enemy, and then a crater full of very angry Ork right in da middle of da enemy line. They take what skulls they can carry, light da packs again and are gone before anyone works out where they came from.
Da planets near da warband have learned to keep an eye on da sky. Da Mek keeps a list of every planet da Gorejumpaz have hit by accident, painted on his workshop wall.
It is getting long.
