High Queen of all that lives in the woods, she is personification of Mother Nature. It is said that she was born without mother or father, taking shape fully formed inside a flower that grew on the crown of the World Tree. She is the one who nurtures and calms the savagery of her husband – but she can be without mercy when riled by those who hunt the young, who cut the trees and despoil the woods. She can order the trees to pull out their roots and attack the despoilers and with her mighty magics she can regrow the felled forest from the blood of those who cut it down in a single night.
Her appearance changes with seasons and the Queen tends to sleep during the wintertime, growing roots from her legs and merging with her throne in the center of the forest. During her sleep, she is guarded by Tree Folk, the shepherds of the trees and guardians of the woods, mighty wood giants and other mightiest creatures of the woods. When she awakes in the spring, she can be found all over the forest, usually riding the most beautiful unicorn in her realm, frequently called the Prince of Unicorns.
