This is my Oceangoing Knarr Accessories Set #2 and it is about a group of Greenlanders who are taking a boat filled with provisions and supplies to another settlement that is just a little bit further away.
What does the set contain ? My first thought was about the weather during such a trip. It is probably rainy. Cold. Foggy. These guys will need some kind of a tarpaulin-like covering across a section of the ship. Likely that would be their spare sail. My choice was to position this tent to the front of the mast so that it can be tied over the sides of the boat without interfering with the rigging.
Thorer and Gunnhild (plus ale and turnips) from the Coastal Knarr kit are coming along on the trip. Some other guys have a family resemblance to previously posted carpenters and boat-steering cousins. I‘ve also added two more ladies to make this more of a co-ed crew.
There are two upright storage stands that the crew can tie the tent/tarpaulin/spare sail shelter device to. There are six oars, plus some poles for poling the ship away from the coast in order to head back to sea. One can use the storage stands to hold them and other clunky stuff but I have not done that here in the pictures.
Update 24.08.2021: The two storage stands were made a bit smaller, both to match the height of the canvas shelter as well as not get in the way of a sail.
