This is an adventure compatible with the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons! These adventures include a pdf document for you to run with your party as well as printable map/s and exclusive creature stat blocks!
This module is a Fifth Edition adventure for four to six adventurers with an average party level (APL) of 8. Be forewarned: much like the sea, this adventure is a harsh mistress. Most of it takes place underwater, in crushing depths, with crippling or deadly environmental hazards and no air readily available. Environmental adaptation and healing magic, especially spells or items that remove various conditions will be paramount for the party’s survival. It takes place in the Drifting Heavens but can be incorporated into any campaign setting, and it can be played as a stand-alone module or as a quest in an ongoing campaign. Adventure Synopsis:
-The characters find themselves sailing across the Mirrordeep Expanse aboard the Wavecleaver, when the ship is immobilized by sudden doldrums and a thickening of the minerals that give these waters their unique appearance – and their blinding glare.
-The unnatural calm and immobility are shattered when the lost ship, Ligeia, emerges from the haze, hunted by a gigantic eel-like monstrosity. As the Ligeia is sunk and they find themselves in the monster’s path, they realize the hounded survivors are strange, mutated humanoids that bear a unique treasure: the Eye of Pyraspis. Gulliver is revealed as Ligeia’s old navigator.
-After surviving the encounter with the sea monster or in the process of escaping it, it is revealed that their only hope to be rid of the Eye’s curse (and possibly to restore the old crew to their original forms) is to petition its tender, Carcinoe, for help in returning it.
-The characters descend into Carcinoe’s Domain, meet the Reefbane Shellkin and make their way to the tender’s abode to bargain with her.
-Having learned of the Trial of Honor, they must then make their way to the top of Pyraspis’ undersea caldera, return the Eye, and appease the primordial behemoth, possibly facing Kelpharos in combat.
