Silent, faceless creatures, Yellow Wise Caps have powerful muscles made up from tangles of
wood fibers. Their small but compact stature hides their strength, which they use to protect
their kind from attacks, viciously ganging up and mauling their enemies. Despite their capacity for violence however, Yellow Wise Caps will never strike first, unless they or their
kind are directly threatened. The Wise Caps: Natives of the Black Stump, Wise Caps are tiny mushroom - like humanoids that guide civilized folk, in exchange for protection from the Drowners and Wild Men, their main predators. Due to their small size, Wise Caps often can’t defend themselves, relying on their natural powerful poisons to kill or incapacitate anyone who eats them.
Wise Caps are able to telepathically communicate with their kind across vast distances and
anyone that betrays or helps them becomes immediately known to their entire kind. Bomph, the Wise Caps’ native language, cannot be spoken or taught, as it relies on the exchange of telepathic signals, color shifting of one’s cap, and the exchange of spore clouds.
