Sunken Temple is an expansion for Massive Darkness: Dungeons of Shadowreach. This complete expansion will come with a new area to explore, new enemies, its own set of quests which can be played as a mini campaign in this brand-new adventure! It even adds a brand-new mechanic, Torments, which can be added to any core box of Massive Darkness to add punishing trials the Lightbringers must undertake for each quest.
The Crowdfunding Exclusive Massive Darkness: Sunken Temple expansion let's you dive into the vast oceans of Shadowreach to discover untold treasures and face off against a whole new breed of foes.

Sunken Temple is a complete expansion that will come with its own unique set of thematic tiles, enemies, and quests that can be played as one-shot quests or as a mini campaign (you will need to have either Massive Darkness 2: Heavenfall or Underspire). The enemies included can be added to any game of Massive Darkness.
Sunken Templeintroduces a new mechanic that can be added to any quest of Massive Darkness! As the Lightbringers set out on their quest, they will be faced with trials they must overcome or suffer their consequences.
Torment cards come in 2 variations, one for the campaign mode and the other for your regular one-shot quests! Torments will trigger upon reaching certain spaces on the Darkness track, marked by the Torment tokens. Lightbringers need to fulfill the conditions before the Darkness track reaches these markers to avoid their consequences!
The Sunken Temple introduces a new type of zone to Massive Darkness, Water zones! It will take the Lightbringers a little more effort to cross these bodies of water. However, beware that the creatures lurking about in Shadowreach move through the water with ease and some of them even become deadlier underwater…
The Mobs and Roaming Monsters you find in this box are well adapted to living underwater. Only a fool would choose to challenge these aquatic creatures in their natural environment.
The Ranakin are highly adaptable foes that excel in both offense and defense! Avoid engaging them in the water at all costs as you will find yourself facing down against some incredibly tough foes.
The Merlings employ frost magic against their foes, becoming more potent underwater. Pursuing them recklessly into the waters is the quickest way to a watery grave.
The Dragon Turtle not only has a tough shell to crack, it also relentlessly pursues any Lightbringer unfortunate enough to be underwater with it. The further it travels, the more momentum it builds up to deliver a single devastating strike. Do not be fooled simply because it resembles a turtle, this creature is by no means as slow as its cousins!
The mighty Kraken’s presence can be felt throughout the Sunken Temple! You do not only encounter it as a Boss, but it is a constant menace that tries to drag the Lightbringers into the abyss as they attempt to accomplish their objectives.
Its vicious tentacles will lash out at any Lightbringer that gets too close to it, attempting to drag them into the bottomless oceans.
These tentacles move around the dungeon after lashing at the Lightbringers and there is little the Lightbringers can do to stop this relentless onslaught! Battle through the 4 Quest and finally put an end to this menace and claim the Temple’s treasure for yourself.
