The Trolls of Vhar are towering, brutish giants nearly twelve feet tall, feared for both their immense strength and their insatiable thirst for strong drink. With thick, gnarled hides and tusked, asymmetrical faces, they are creatures of both physical menace and cruel cunning. Alcohol serves as currency, tribute, and obsession in troll society—mead, ale, or anything fermented is sought with single-minded fervor. Villages that refuse to offer drink may suffer raids, while those who pay up may find themselves under the bizarre protection of these lumbering gluttons. Trolls often justify their violence as repayment for imagined slights, and they see their actions not as wickedness, but as rightful toll-taking.
Despite their monstrous nature, trolls have a twisted sense of honour and a culture all their own. They hold raucous gatherings known as "Troll Moots" deep in the mountains, where they drink, brawl, and boast until the ground trembles beneath their revelry. Outsiders who stumble into these moots are given a simple choice: drink alongside them or die as sport. Yet, for those bold—or foolish—enough to treat a troll with respect and keep their cup filled, a strange kind of loyalty may be earned. Some ancient trolls, soaked in centuries of drink and memory, are whispered to possess a slurred but potent wisdom—but few survive long enough, or drunk enough, to hear it.
This set includes 3x Trolls of Vhar, both supported and unsupported, and it comes with premium 40mm and 60mm bases.
*Please note that this set also comes with smaller trolls designed to be used in "Rank and Flank" tabletop wargames. These trolls come with a square 40mm premium base. The 40mm round base is not compatible with these trolls and is designed for the larger troll variant.
