From the heart of the fire-mountains they drew obsidian, said to be the solidified blood of their buried sun-god. In return for their devotion, the god granted them shells like stone and lifespans as long as empires.

Now they march as the Order of the Obsidian Sun — warrior-priests and shieldbearers who see themselves as the last light of a dying star. To foes, they are an unstoppable wall of carapace and obsidian blades; to allies, they are a grim reminder that even the sun can be eclipsed.
