In the waning days of the Republic, this senator represented her homeworld in the Republic Senate, and, in this role, was a prominent and outspoken proponent of peace and democracy during the wars with the Separatist. After the events that transitioned the Republic into the Empire and finally concluding the war with the Separatist planets, She continued to hold a seat in the Imperial Senate, but she secretly began organizing resistance movements against the fascist government alongside, more militant and ruthless leaders. This senator became the impetus for the official formation of the Rebel Alliance, and it was under her leadership that the Alliance managed to defeat the Empire and found the New Republic, of which she served as its first Chancellor.
