The itinerant clerics of Galberand are as varied, numerous and enigmatic as the gods they serve. Even two devotees ostensibly of the same faith may disagree strongly on the will of their divine master, the composition of their prescribed rituals or even the correct gauge of their holy hammer – religious wars have been waged over less.
These disparate religions, orders and sects are largely kept in check by the overbearing and officious Grand Theoligarchy – a faith dedicated to the worship of bureaucracy itself – and its clerics are among the most stubborn and bloody-minded in the land.
Humans are the people found most commonly throughout western Galberand. Being highly adaptable, resourceful and inquisitive, they have proliferated a dizzying array of cultures that have spread across the world.
