A Soulforged who has long since forgotten his life on Edrador, let alone his life as a man before his soul was bound to this cold shell. The most he can remember is a life in bondage in Sudd Tohst, before he was purchased by Skilet personally a few decades prior. Brick was an admirable and stout worker, no nonsense and loyal to a tee to his new owner, who gave the Soulforged his freedom, in exchange for unwavering loyalty.
Brick’s a Soulforged of few words. Stout, tight lipped, loyal to a tee. He’s the kind of bartender you can bring your wife to one night and your mistress to the other, and he won’t say a word about it. It’s qualities like this that make him the perfect worker for Skilet in his casino, and what puts him at the top of his game as bar manager. When others spend their days flapping their tongues and filling their gullets with ale, Brick stands like a sturdy watchdog behind the bar, waiting to see the first sign of someone slipping up. See, he’s well aware of his situation working in a hazardous environment like the Rossa Cartel, and on more than one occasion his quick wits and unblinking eyes have saved the lives of his staff and his own hide once or twice.
Not everyone likes his boss as much as he does, and these people make themselves clearly known now and then. It’s why Brick keeps a hell of a clobbering club beneath his bar, and keeps himself well trained when it comes to brawling; he didn’t get his name because he’s a carpenter. With a fist of baked clay, whoever’s on the other end is gonna have a bad time. Still, if you’re not causing trouble, he’s a personable chap, one that’s become well respected among the Cartel, even if they just see him as a bar worker, most its ruffians know he could break their skull if he wanted to.
It’s been almost fifty years since Skilet bought his freedom in the slave markets of Sudd Tohst, and Brick’s been indebted to the halfling crime lord ever since. Though he knows he has the ability to walk away from this life at any time, he doesn’t plan on going anywhere until Skilet goes peacefully in his sleep, and if he doesn’t go peacefully, then he’s going to make sure whoever offs his boss go down the same path.
