A Fire Elemi born within the fallen human kingdom of Arrakanna in Edrador, who fled across the seas in fear for her life, pursued for her cursed heritage. After stowing away on a WEHL ship as a child, Firenzia was discovered and brought into the WEHL, first for study, and later as a Hunter, owing to the unique abilities gifted to her by blood. Though other Elemi in the WEHL are wary of her, most within the organisation recognise the value of her fiery abilities.

The child of a forbidden love, between a Fire Elemi soldier from Abunen Kolden and a farmer’s daughter from the western plains of Arrakanna. Her father’s land had been used as a staging ground for the Koldeni in Arrakanna, present on some secretive mission, though merciful enough to not slaughter the farmers whose land they stood on, or force them into servitude. It was here that the farmer’s daughter fell for one of the soldiers, who left her with child, though only apparent weeks after the soldiers had left. Unknowing of what kind of child would come of their union, and though the baby girl seemed almost normal at first, apart from a strange scar on her  arm, her true elemental nature became apparent days later as its skin grew hot like a scalding fever, and embers seemed to flicker from her hair.

Firenzia was the name given to her by her mother, who defended her newborn from her family who insisted the creature was the spawn of devilry, and should be cast into the ocean or drowned in the swamps. Refusing to comply, Firenzia’s mother left, taking her babe with her, finding whatever scraps of work she could in the remote villages dotted across Arrakanna’s wilderness, though was driven out each time the nature of her child was discovered. When Firenzia was old enough to understand what was happening, they lived in the capital city of Okh, a trade hub that occasionally saw passage of other Elemi of Air, Water and Earth, who told Firenzia of her nature, and that those bound to fire like her were always destined for evil. Not wishing to burden her mother anymore, and to isolate herself from an evil destiny, she stowed away in the lower deck of a transport ship in the harbour, stuffing herself in a metal crate with the lid cracked open enough for air.

Days into the voyage as hunger and delirium gnawed at her, she was discovered by a crew member who noticed the crate’s strange warmth. Unsure what to do with her, the crew’s captain decided to instead invite the stowaway into his quarters, to share in dinner with her. He introduced himself as an explorer, or adventurer, of sorts. One who worked for an organisation in a far away land, dedicated to mapping and understanding the world around them. He asked her what she wanted to do when she grew up, to which she did not know the answer, she had always followed in tow of her mother, with no thought of what a future without her might be. She admitted she did not even have a plan upon boarding the ship, and simply hoped it sailed far away and disappeared, along with herself. The captain thus began to talk to the girl about other things, telling stories of wonderment from across the sea, stories that enthralled a girl whose meagre life was spent always in the shadows, living off scraps. He admitted to her that those like her were a rarity from her homeland in Abunen Kolden, and she would have a valuable place in his organisation, if she would wish for it, and be willing to train as a young steward.

Gladly, Firenzia accepted and joined the World Explorer’s & Hunter’s League as a child, making her one of the youngest initiates to have ever stepped into its ranks. The Captain, Felix, became her mentor in those years. She was his shadow, and closest thing to a right-hand next to his first mate. He taught her to read and write, the lore of creatures of the air, land and sea, and much of the history of both Tharador, and her homeland in Edrador. To Firenzia, Felix was a father, one who did not treat her like a burden, but a blessing to bestow with all his worldly knowledge. She has since left his service, joining a hunter squad in their organisation of her own accord. With knowledge and experience ten years senior to anyone else her own age, she eclipses the majority of her peers with both knowledge and combat prowess. Whilst many of the other Elemi in the WEHL fear her and ostracize her for her nature as a Fire Elemi, most within the WEHL’s ranks recognise her seniority despite her young age, and appreciate the unique attributes her heritage brings to a hunt.
