One of the elite Marines from the city of Findros. Alwine and her brother Lars have been summoned at the request of their Duke to quell the supposed infestation of a new Dragonblight strain that has taken hold in the kingdom’s south. Having seen the devastation Dragonblight caused exactly two years ago, they will bring upon a righteous, unmerciful fury to the ailment, and pray for the souls of all those who are afflicted.

When word first reached the Duke of Findros that a new plague had ravaged the city of Eredel, and was bound to sprout within his own walls, he took immediate action. Within two days, every man woman and child of Findros was loaded upon the armada of ships docked at Findros, and sent to sea. It seemed to be the best idea that he could have, with reports of monstrosities forming from plague victims, he did not wish his city to share the fate of Eredel.

Alwine was among those forced to corral citizens onto the ships, with many refusing to go until her iron-clad knee struck their side. When the first outbreaks began on the ships, her and her brother Lars were among the Marine Knights who were sent to the infected ships. After the first, it was clear that there was no saving them. The pair barely escaped with their lives, while many of their comrades perished to the plague beasts, joining them soon after. It was at Lars’ behest, and Alwine’s protest, that the ships were set ablaze. Mages cast firestorms upon them, or navy ships unleashed barrages of liquid fire. The screams still haunt her, and the sight of civilians set ablaze, diving into the ocean as their immolated bodies fell to pieces as they hit the water.

She wonders often if there was another way. She knows that what her brother chose was perhaps the right call, with only five boats perishing in the entire fleet of sixty. Findros saw relatively little destruction compared to other major this, she has held animosity against Lars for the callous nature of his decision, and how easily he was ready to make the call. Two years on, she cannot look at him the same, despite still loving him as her brother, and training with him every day. Now the pair are sent to quell a new infestation, by request of their Duke. The town of Limlight has been cordoned off with an arcane barrier, after reports of a new strain of Dragonblight suddenly emerging in the town. Only small squads are being sent in to minimize the risk, with hopes that there is a central figure controlling the disease, as Hendrak was before. Should they find it and destroy it, the disease should quickly wither and die, and the quarantine can be lifted.
