An outlaw who has been on the run for her forbidden arts and grand larceny for years. With a bounty on her head in every kingdom, she settled in Draksborne, owing to the fact they have had much more severe problems to deal with in the wake of Dragonblight, than chasing after petty bounties. Yet, fate would deal an ironic twist to Hera, as now Dragonblight surrounds her, trapping her in the village of Limlight under quarantine as a new outbreak threatens the already crippled kingdom.

Hailing from Greypeak originally, Hera was once a member of the Watchers, sentenced for petty theft to spend two years at Oldavor’s frozen border. In one of the expeditions Hera was forced to undertake into the icy wasteland, she was separated from her squad, written off as another casualty of the wastes. In the frozen sheets of ice, she by chance uncovered the hidden entrance of an ancient ruin beneath the snow, collapsing onto it as cold took her. In its depths, she found warmth and shelter, alongside a group of recently deceased Sanguine Colossals, natives of the land. It seemed they had taken their own lives in some form of ceremonial group sacrifice, with naught remaining among them, save for two blood-soaked scythes upon an altar.

The blades called to her, and as her hands were placed upon them, a wave of agony engulfed her, dragging her mind to darkness as she collapsed to the floor. When she awoke, the weapons whispered in her mind; their thirst for blood, in exchange for a borrowed power to her. Silrasa and Vilmak were their names. Sister and Brother, respectively. They had seen every aspect of her past, surmounting to naught but petty theft, living an insignificant life as little more than a gnat in the grand web of fate. Now, fate was in her hands, though the blades seemed unsure of the champion who had uptaken them.

Now she has returned to the land of the living, forsaking her duty in the watchers. She first sought vengeance against those who had seen her sent off to the icy borders of Oldavor. She harvested their blood before slaying them, using the blades to then flicker through the security of the King’s vaults, stealing a dragon’s hoard worth of gold and jewels before fleeing further south to Karkanoth. For years, this has been her way, sating the blade’s thirst for blood and her own hunger for gold, one and the same. With a bounty in almost every kingdom of Tharador, she sought refuge in the lands of Draksborne, which two years ago had turned into a plague-stricken blightland. Even now, it is barely beginning to recover. Fate, unfortunately, is now no longer dictated by Hera as she finds herself trapped in an arcane contamination field, as the village of Limlight, where she was staying, has become stricken with a new outbreak of the Blight. Her options now are to find a way to purge the disease and lift the quarantine, or become one of its many victims.
