A woman chosen by the cult to be the concubine of their dark lord. For Morrigan, she never had much of a choice. Had she refused to carry the spawn of Quorenderi, she would have met a gruesome end as one of the dozens sacrificed to feed it, but in another woman’s womb. Years have passed since she was chosen, and now she has embraced her role.
Raised in Westlook all her life, Morrigan always saw the worship of Quorenderi as simply a chore through her childhood, rolling her eyes at weekly sermons in the same way any other child might fight against being taken to temple. For Morrigan, the cult was the mundane reality in which she was raised. The background of her life whilst she herself found a greater love in music, particularly the violin. Her childhood was spent playing in her room at home, or sneaking out at night to play by the shore when her family was asleep. It was in this that the music of Morrigan reached the depths, and Quorenderi found himself infatuated by the girl.
When it came time to sire his next spawn, Morrigan was chosen, a decision whispered to the Awakened. Many within the cult questioned the decision: why choose a woman whose love for Quorenderi was lesser than the dozens of other suitable concubines he might take. Morrigan herself had no desire for it either, protesting until her life was threatened: she would either become that which held the next incarnation of Quorenderi, or perish. Thus, she underwent the brutal transmogrification of her body to the monstrosity she is now. Despite her initial resistance, Morrigan has now accepted her role as the Concubine of Quorenderi. She is pampered, constantly well fed and cared for by the cult, until she can host her child. Better still, she is given whatever time she needs to play her violin, and ignore the perils of the world above. That isn’t to say that if they should find their way to her den, she would not tear them limb from limb.
