Zihans
A pair of mutant humanoid iguana miniatures for 28mm games.
Pre-supported and unsupported files included. Also includes a simple printable figure base.
Zihans are a fearsome and highly territorial tribe of mutant lizard folk based off of iguana stock. They are carnivorous and consider most other intelligent life in Terra AD to be valid food sources, though they have been known to associate with other lizard-like beings.
Members of the Zihan tribe have found an Ancient movie theater that was playing old classic Giant Monster movies at the time of the Great Disaster, and the Zihans have used the fictional monsters from that source as the basis for their own religion. They carry bottles of ‘fire ant juice’ which they take into their mouths and then spit out to simulate ‘breathing fire’. They also tend to walk with a very peculiar gait, taking big exaggerated steps and making ‘smashing’ sounds when their feet hit the ground, as if they are pretending to be much much bigger than they actually are.
This set contains two different poses: one with a Zihan ‘breathing fire’ and another with a Zihan doing the ‘Stompy Walk’.
Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They are also designed to stand up to actual tabletop use: no ridiculous spindly bits that look awesome but are going to break the first time someone sneezes. Paintability and ease of assembly are also important concerns to our design aesthetic.
I sculpted these iguana monsters for use in our Gen Con/Origins Mutant Crawl Classics adventure scenario ‘The Temple of Zilla’, and they also appeared in our original Mutant Mayhem Minis kickstarter. They are available for sale in pewter on my website at www.dark-platypus.com , or you can buy them digitally right here and print your own army!
