Ashigaru Vol. 3 | Feudal Japanese | Late Sengoku | June 2026 Fantasy Release

This is the ranged expansion the line needed. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 gave you the spear wall — Vol. 3 adds bow and matchlock, plus a fresh spear pose set in tatami-dō armor, so a full ashigaru warband finally has ranged support instead of just melee blocks.

What's in this release:

• Feudal Japanese | Tatami-dō | Yumi Ashigaru — five bow poses, drawing and loosing; your skirmish/ranged line for open-field engagements
• Feudal Japanese | Tatami-dō | Teppo Ashigaru — five matchlock poses, kneeling and standing firing lines; the gunpowder answer to cavalry and armored samurai
• Feudal Japanese | Tatami-dō | Yari Ashigaru – Charging — five forward-lunging assault poses for the advance
• Feudal Japanese | Tatami-dō | Yari Ashigaru – Defending — five low-braced poses built for holding a line against a charge
• Feudal Japanese | Tatami-dō | Yari Ashigaru – Idle — five standing-ready poses for back ranks and reserves
• Feudal Japanese | Late Sengoku | Ashigaru – Happuri Heads — ten face-armor head variants, added based on a community request; a full set of 10 unique heads so units don't repeat faces, fits across the existing ashigaru body system

All models are 32mm scale. Bases shown in renders are 20mm samples to demonstrate rank-and-file spacing — bases are not included. The head, body, and weapon system carries forward from Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 — mix Yumi, Teppo, and Yari across any of the bodies and heads in the line to keep a full unit from looking like copies of the same guy.

With ranged options now in the roster, this is the most complete ashigaru release yet — you can field a proper combined-arms feudal warband: spear line up front, bow and matchlock behind.

A note on the roadmap: Tatami-dō is the first armor type in an ongoing ashigaru series built around the "poor ashigaru" theme — the patchwork, low-budget levy gear that armed the actual bulk of Sengoku foot soldiers, rather than the uniformed, well-equipped look ashigaru usually get in paintings and video games. Future releases will keep adding armor styles in that same spirit, building toward a full roster of mix-and-match ashigaru so no two units in your army have to look alike. Whether you're building a proper clan levy, a ragtag bandit warband, or wako pirate raiders, the system is designed to grow with you.
