Concretium - Grand Cathedral

Description

The Concretium - Grand Cathedral can be the focal point of all battles on your gaming table. It is a beautyfully detailed and enormous 8mm scale building.

This is a project close to my heart. I began working on the initial concepts for the cathedral at the same time as the Aristocratic District. Over the last 3 months i've sunken my teeth into this project and made the building i always wanted to create. The architecture is clearly shaped by historical precedents, but also by the character of the aristocratic district's buildings. And while it is really huge on the gaming table, it is still only half the size of its historical counterparts at this scale.

The cathedral is build out of 3 sections (A, B and C) and has an optional base compatible with the concretium tile-sets. The sections A and C can be used in any configuration together with section B to build the cathedral. This allows you to build a total of 3 versions with this kit (not counting any of the variant parts for customisation). The standard configuration (1) is ABC, for the variants (2) you can build the configurations ABA or CBC. The variant builds don't come with an optional base.

The model is cut and sculpted in a way, that it can be put together without glue (with only a few exceptions). However, once glued together, the cathedral is much easier to transport.

All windows are sculpted without the glas, so you can add light or smoke-effects on the inside. The cathedral has a basic interior sculpted with stairs, doors, windows and columns. In addition there are several optional details like a big altar or organ to add more detail if you wish so. You might wonder why, since this detail can't be seen. The idea behind it is, that i will release a separate kit with ruined parts later this year, so it can be reconfigured into a ruined state however you like or the battle dictates.

All parts are optimized for fdm-printing. With very few exceptions (some roofs and the statues) all parts are designed in a way to print perfectly fine without supports.
