Description
The leaders of the Aquila Neowarriors were not merely commanders, but living standards of the ancient legions, leading their brothers into battle beneath banners crowned with the eagle and lightning bolts, symbols of the coming order they could only dream of in those days. Their commander was a veteran of many campaigns and one of the few who still remembered the wars of tyrants through human eyes: before metal bones, before armor that could never be removed, before his transformation into the first prototype of those who would later be called humanity’s space knights. He had seen the world before the Protectorate, seen the ashes of old kingdoms, nuclear dawns above cities, mutant hordes at the walls of the last fortresses, and heard the priests preach of a future where humanity would finally know order, unity, and an end to endless war. For that dream, he allowed the scientists to break and rebuild his body. For that dream, he led his brothers through fire. For that dream, he buried those who did not survive the transformation.

But when Inquisitor Cesarie led him and his warriors through a fracture in time into Mastermind’s laboratory, that dream appeared before him in a mutilated form. Instead of a radiant future, he saw the world of the Protectorate, where order had become a chain, faith had become command, cities had become prisons without sunlight, and humanity had learned to survive at the cost of its own soul. Within the Null-Zone, among broken corridors, Temporite, and a war of all against all, the leader of the Aquila Neowarriors understood for the first time that everything they had fought for may have been in vain, or worse, used by those who came after them. Horror quickly turned to rage. Now he leads his brothers not only against the enemies of humankind, but against the very future that betrayed their sacrifice. His standard is still raised, but the eagle and lightning upon it no longer mean loyalty to the Protectorate. They are a sentence passed upon a world that dared to be born from the blood of heroes and call it victory.
