Philippe VI of Valois, born in 1293, was the first king of the Valois dynasty. He ascended the French throne in 1328, succeeding Charles IV. As king, Philip VI was challenged by Edward III of England, who claimed rights to the French throne. The conflict broke out in 1337 between the two sides, bringing the kingdoms of France and England into the Hundred Years' War.
Miles de Noyers known as “le Grand”, born around 1271 and died September 21, 13501, lord of Noyers, Chablis and Vendeuvre, purchaser in 1338 of the county of Joigny for his son Jean, marshal of France, great bottler of France, was an important advisor to the kings of France in the first half of the 14th century. His career culminated under Philippe VI of Valois.
His incredible military career will unfortunately be tarnished by the military defeat of Crécy, at the age of 75 he bears the Oriflamme standard. He was injured there and left for dead.
