To make the wizard library more authentic and recognizable, I designed these old bookshelves made from wooden planks that have definitely seen better days. I wanted the wood to look old and used, like somebody hammered these planks together a long time ago. All the planks have little cracks, holes and imperfections, and because the books are heavy and have probably been sitting there for years, some of the shelves are bent to give a feeling of weight.
I also made the shelves in versions without a back wall, so you can place them directly against a wall and let the wall behind them show through. That way they blend much better into dungeon rooms, libraries or other interiors instead of always looking like a separate piece of furniture.
The idea was to make the whole library feel a little more lived-in and believable.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
• 8 unique Wizard Library bookshelves
• Every bookshelf comes in 3 different versions:
• Complete bookshelf with seperate books
• Modular version in separate parts without a back wall
• Modular version in separate parts with a back wall
• All books come as separate pieces, so you can place them however you like
• Supported and unsupported parts included
• Scale: 32mm
PRINTABILITY
All shelves come in separate parts with and without supports, so you can decide for yourself how you want to build and print them. The books are always separate as well, which gives you a lot of freedom when putting your library together.
To all FDM'ers: I recommend a 0.2 mm nozzle for this set to get the nice details from both the shelves and the books. With a 0.08 mm layer height and supports enabled, you should get a decent result.
A little tip from me: When I use Bambu Studio, I usually increase the Top Z Distance a little bit to make the supports easier to remove. For example, if Top Z Distance and Bottom Z Distance are both set to 0.08 mm, I might change the Top Z Distance to around 0.10 mm. You will have to experiment a bit with this setting depending on your printer, but it can make support removal much easier.
To all Resin'ers: This set is of course made for resin as well. With all the little details on the books and the wood, resin should bring out everything really nicely.
WHAT CAN YOU USE THEM FOR?
You can scatter the shelves around and build your own complete wizard library, or just use one or two as a nice eyecatcher in a diorama or on the battlefield.
They work great for:
• Wizard libraries
• Mage towers
• Fantasy interiors
• Dungeon rooms
• RPG scenery
• Tabletop terrain
• Dioramas
• Display scenes
• Battlefield scenery
• Magical academies
• Fantasy studies
Because the books are separate and the shelves are modular, you can also change the arrangement and make each library look a little different.
