Helicoprion bessonowi is an extinct species of shark that lived during the Permian period, approximately 290 million years ago.
It is known for its unique spiral-shaped tooth whorl, which is often found as a fossilized impression. The tooth whorl was originally thought to be a circular saw-like structure located at the front of the animal's mouth, but it is now believed to have been located at the back of the jaw, similar to a modern shark's teeth.
The function of the tooth whorl is still a subject of debate among paleontologists, but it is thought to have been used for crushing and grinding prey, such as cephalopods and other marine invertebrates.
Model includes a Pre-supported version.
The model comes in 2 sizes. 1:35 size with the model split in to 2 parts and the 1:50 size which has the full body in one part. You can reduce or enlarge the model using the slicing software if you need a different size.
Pre-supported model is oriented to minimize supports to the face and other high-detail parts. Care should be taken when removing the supports to avoid damaging the model.
