Description
Sinosauropteryx prima is a small, feathered theropod dinosaur species that lived in what is now China during the early Cretaceous period, approximately 130 million years ago.
It was first discovered in 1996 and is notable for being one of the first non-avian dinosaurs to be found with clear evidence of feathers.
Sinosauropteryx was about 1.2 meters long and weighed around 1 kilogram. Its feathers were simple and filament-like, resembling those of modern birds.
It is thought to have been a fast and agile predator, feeding on small animals such as lizards and insects.
