Description
Coelodonta antiquitatis, commonly known as the woolly rhinoceros, roamed the icy landscapes of the Pleistocene epoch, flourishing from 350,000 to 10,000 years ago.
Adapted to the harsh conditions of the last Ice Age, this herbivorous giant featured a thick, shaggy coat of fur, an impressive horn on its snout, and a robust build.
With a range extending from Europe to Asia, the woolly rhinoceros coexisted with early humans, leaving its mark in prehistoric cave art.
Despite its formidable appearance, this magnificent creature faced extinction as climate shifts and human activity altered its habitat, ultimately marking the end of its glacial era reign.
