Description
Koolasuchus cleelandi, an amphibian giant of the Early Cretaceous, inhabited the ancient freshwater habitats of what is now Australia.
Remarkably distinct, it measured up to five meters in length and possessed a bulky, crocodile-like body. With its squat limbs and powerful jaws, Koolasuchus likely prowled the water's edge, preying on smaller aquatic creatures.
Its dense, robust skeleton suggests adaptation to a semi-aquatic lifestyle, perhaps even venturing onto land for mating or basking.
