Description
Rapetosaurus krausei, a majestic herbivorous dinosaur, roamed the prehistoric landscapes of Madagascar during the Late Cretaceous period.
Belonging to the sauropod family, it stood tall with a long neck and tail, boasting a length of up to 15 meters and weighing around 15 tons.
Named after a Malagasy giant, Rapeto, it was discovered in 2001 and described in 2007. Its fossilized remains unveil insights into the ancient ecosystems of Madagascar, suggesting a diet of plants and likely a social existence.
