Description
Dakosaurus maximus was a large marine crocodyliform that lived during the Late Jurassic, around 150 million years ago.
Growing up to 5 meters (16 feet) long, it had a robust, streamlined body suited for swimming in ancient seas.
Unlike modern crocodiles, Dakosaurus had a short, deep skull with serrated, blade-like teeth, earning it the nickname "the Jurassic killer whale."
These adaptations suggest it was a formidable predator, likely preying on large marine animals, including fish and other marine reptiles.
