Description

Sivatherium giganteum was a massive, giraffid herbivore that roamed Asia and Africa during the late Miocene to the early Pleistocene epoch.

Standing around 3 meters (10 feet) tall at the shoulder and weighing up to 1.2 tons, it had a muscular build with short legs and a long neck.

Unlike modern giraffes, Sivatherium had a robust, moose-like appearance with two pairs of ossicones, or horn-like structures, on its head. These impressive features may have been used for display or defense.

It inhabited woodlands and savannas, feeding on a variety of vegetation, and likely became extinct due to climate changes and human activity.
