During the Måløy raid (Operation Archery) a force of 576 men participated, of which 51 were officers. Among these were Martin Linge, his assistant Rubin Langmo and 15 other Norwegian commando soldiers. The attack was militarily successful, - but during an attack on Ulvesund Hotell in Måløy, Martin Linge was hit in a shootout and died on the steps of the hotel. Rubin Langmo tried in vain to save him.
