Baselard Infantry Tank

Fusilier militias have a fundamentally different role than the more offensive Dragoons, and thus require different armor to support their work. With thick frontal armor and a variety of weaponry, the Baselard is suited to infantry support, whether that be advancing across trench lines as part of an infantry counterattack or standing vigil for months as part of a defensive line. Despite its larger size, the Baselard is less expensive to produce than the Kli-San due to the use of less powerful motors and fewer advanced systems.

The Baselard Type A is a gun tank, generally intended for a general purpose role leaning towards anti-armor support. A sturdy barbette mounting for the main armament gives the main weapon more protection at the expense of firing arc, but this is seen as an acceptable trade-off in its primary role. The most common weapon loadout revolves around the same multirole cannon found on the Kli-San, although other common weapon variants are also found in service, from rotary cannons to powerful thermal projectors.

The Baselard Type B is referred to by its escorting infantry as a ‘bunker tank’. With six hull casemates, a hull cannon, and a rear defense turret, the Type B is capable of laying down a withering storm of firepower in any firing arc. Most Type Bs are equipped with heavy automatic weapons for anti-infantry use, but a few rare variants replace these with other weapons - short-barreled cannons for a devastating volley of high-explosive firepower being a common example.

This kit includes the parts needed to build a Baselard Type A or B tank, along with a variety of optional weaponry.

Eight main weapons are included for the Type A tank, as well as a blank mantlet capable of accepting four of any of my standard weapon.
Twenty-three standard mount weapon options are also included, and can be used on either type of vehicle.
Finally, the Baselard kit has a turret ring built-in that can accept turrets from the Kli-San, Crocodile, or Cerberus kits.

The weapons have magnet holes in case you want to swap weapons after assembly. You’ll need 3mm (⅛”) x 1mm and 5mm (¼”) x 1mm rare earth magnets if you choose to take advantage of them.

This kit is presupported, but also includes unsupported STLs for those who want to print in FDM or would prefer to handle their own supports.
