Komodo Chemical Weapons Vehicle

Early tests of the Crocodile chemical tank revealed that although the fuel trailer vastly increased the safety and operational time of the vehicle, it also limited the maximum speed and performed poorly in some terrain types. While these issues were mostly rectified or deemed irrelevant by the time the Crocodile entered service, development of an alternate vehicle was well underway.

Named the Komodo, this alternative vehicle adapts the sturdy Makara IFV by replacing the troop bay with storage tanks to feed the main armament. Capable of carrying nearly as much fuel as the Crocodile without the need for a separate trailer, the TA/C.3 gives up some raw speed for slightly improved mobility and transportability. 

The Komodo’s weapons are largely the same as featured on the Crocodile, featuring either a Chem, Fusion, or Flame Cannon. Some experimentation has been performed with turning the vehicle into a short-range air defense weapon by replacing the usual weapons and storage tanks with a multibarrel cannon and ammunition bins. Early tests are promising, although the current turret only has limited room for tracking apparatus.

Four weapon options are included (Flame, Chem, Fusion, and Rotary Cannons). The turret ring is compatible with other Minotaur-sized turrets, including the Minotaur, Makara, Balius, and more.

This kits contains two front hull options, two rear hull options and four track options, plus a variety of track armor and detailing options. Several of these options are new to this kit, but are compatible with most other Ammit-chassis vehicles.

Extra pintle weapon mounts and cupolas are included for extra customizability.

Finally, disposable missile launchers, stowage, and tools are also included.

This kit is presupported, but also includes unsupported STLs for those who want to print in FDM or would prefer to handle their own supports.

Approximate model dimensions: 130mm long, 80mm wide, and 70mm tall without trailer, 200mm long with trailer.
