In Taurodar culture when a King passes on a new King is chosen from his people. Anyone above the age of 14 can participate but never has anyone been chosen who was under the age of 30. Challengers need to participate in 7 separate trials which span a full year. These trials are meant to test their strength, wisdom and benevolence and courage. Coming from a long line of excellent fighters King Celadir was the youngest elf to ever participate in the Choosing Ceremony, he was only 16 when the ceremony began and turned 17 shortly before being crowned King of Taurodar. When he first announced his candidacy, he was ridiculed, but after he began completing trial after trial their attitude changed and soon everyone was cheering him on. During his final trial he walked into the forest a boy and emerged a mighty King.
